I happened to be a mother of a future guide and perhaps a future spark. I was present at the AGM on June 5th and I have to say that I am absolutely appalled at the response we got from our girl guide commissioners and council. They didn’t even acknowledge our concerns and as a parent I am certainly giving a second thought to signing my children up to be part of this organization. Why even have an Annual General Meeting when the only ones that get to voice anything are the ones running the show. (HOW COLLABORATIVE!) They talk about “girl greatness and how they are have new programs which speak to bullying”. I can tell you that there was no “girl greatness or respect for the current guiders they have as a part of their organization”. I will be spreading the word about what is happening and I will also be writing a formal letter. The only bullies here are the ones that do not collaborate and listen to their own girls/leaders.
Soon they are going to find themselves without any leaders and then where will our “GIRL GREATNESS be?”……

I have to say that I am so proud of the women and even young rangers at the event on June 5th for having the courage to have a voice one of which should be heard!!!! Those leaders have continued to guide these rangers/girls to stand up for what they believe in.
